Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR)

Myofascial Release works on the web of connective tissue that runs throughout your body known as the fascia. Restrictions in your fascia can lead to long term pain, tension and postural problems.  Fascia is affected by physical or emotional trauma and holds related restrictions within the body until a point at which they feel safe to be released. This holding creates unhelpful postural patterns, pain and restriction. During your treatment we will work to release your fascial restrictions, restore health to your tissues and freedom of movement to your joints. Within the process of an MFR treatment there may also be emotional release and new conscious awareness can arise spontaneously along with the physical release.

MFR Scar Release Treatment
A scar causes changes to the way tensional forces are held in the body which can lead to pain, discomfort and loss of range of movement. There may also be numbness or hypersensitivity around an area of scar tissue as well as emotional holding of the story around the scar. Scar work is a type of myofascial release bodywork that  addresses the seen and unseen scar to release adhesions, create continuity and develop integration within the bodymind. This work is beneficial for all scars including c-sections, cancer surgery, injuries and scars from medical operations. A session can be booked from 6 weeks after the scar was created, it can also be extremely helpful even years after the event.
